Abbaye troglodytique de Saint-Roman

This Historic Monument is a very old troglodytic monastery excavated by hermits then by Benedictine monks in a hill in the garrigue overlooking the Rhone. Chapel, cells, rock-cut necropolis and magnificent panorama over Provence. In Beaucaire, a City of Art and History, the remains of this troglodytic abbey are unique in Western Europe.
Open daily from 1 july to 31 august : 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm.From april to june and from 1/09 to 19/10 : 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6.50pm (closed on monday and tuesday morning). From 20/10 to 28/02 : open sat. Sun. and holidays : from tuesday to sunday from 2pm to 5.50pm. March from tuesday to sunday from 2pm to 6.50pm. Closed on 24 and 25/12 and 1/01
